Chicken Karhai
The most famous Pakistani Dish.Be it a lunch or dinner, this dish is loved the most by everyone. It is easy to cook and tastes absolutely delicious. Try it and let us know how it turned out 🙂
Ingredients
- 1 Chicken Cut into small pieces ( dressed weight appx 1 Kg)
- 1-1/2 Tablespoon Onion Finely Chopped
- 1 bulb garlic big
- 1 piece Ginger
- 1 Nutmeg + 2 leaves of Jaiwatri ground
- 2 Tablespoon Ginger
- 2 Tablespoon Oil
- 1/2 Kg Tomatoes Finely Chopped
- 1-1/2 Tablespoon Chili flakes
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1-1/2 Tablespoon Ginger Julian Cut (Finely cut)
- 2 Tablespoons Coriander green (Finely chopped)
- 3 Green Chilies Finely Chopped
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper

Instructions
- Finely Crush garlic whole garlic bulb along with peel and ginger piece together.

- Add 1/4 cup of water. Strain out the juice

- Place karhai with chicken, Finely chopped onion, and nutmeg powder on heat. Add garlic ginger juice to it

- Cook covered over medium high heat for approximately 5 seconds till water is about to dry
- Add 2 Tablespoons oil to it and cook till water is almost dry

- Add finely chopped tomatoes. Cook over high heat till tomatoes are cooked well and the mixture is thick


- Add Chili flakes and cook a little. At this time place oil over heat in another pan so that it is ready at the time of tarka

- Add salt, black pepper, green coriander, green chilies and Julian cut ginger

- Roast cumin, crush it and spread it over cooked chicken


- Pour hot oil over it and cover it with lid at once and turn the heat low. Cook for another minute or so


- Serve hot with Naan
