Pound Cake/Yellow Cake
Its a traditional dessert that pairs perfectly with tea. Be it evening tea at home or entertaining guests
Ingredients
For Cake
- 3 Eggs
- 100 gms Butter
- 100 gms Sugar (Ground) (2/3 cup aprox)
- 100 gms All Purpose flour A little less than a cup aprox
- 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence

Instructions
- Separate the egg whites and yolks.
- Beat egg whites until they are stiff

- Put butter, sugar and vanilla essence in a bowl. Butter should be softened

- Beat them till they are creamy

- Add egg yolks to this mixture and beat them

- Sieve together flour, baking powder and salt and add to the mixture

- Beat them till they are mixed well

- Add beaten egg whites to the mixture in two or three portions.

- Fold them into the mixture carefully

- Grease the mold and use greased butter paper so that its easier to take the cake out once baked

- Pour the mixture into the mold

- Garnish it with your desired topping

- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C. Bake for 40 - 45 minutes or till its fully baked and the stick comes out clean. (The time of baking depends on the temperature of your oven)
- Serve hot or cold 🙂
