Coffee Sponge Delight
Ingredients
For Sponge
- 5 Eggs
- 3/4 Cup Sugar Sandy Ground
- 1/2 Cup Flour
- 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
- 1 Pinch Salt
For Coffee Mix
- 1 Pack Coffee 3 in 1 (Or use 1 Tablespoon milk powder + 1 Teaspoon coffee)
- 1 Cup Milk
Cream Topping
- 300 ml Cream
- 1/4th Cup Powdered Sugar Or as desired
- 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
For Chocolate Sauce
- 100 gms Cooking Chocolate
- 1 Cup Milk

Instructions
- Separate Egg whites and egg yolks

- Beat egg whites till they are stiff

- Beat egg yolks till they are light in color

- Add yolks to the beaten egg whites and beat again

- Add sugar gradually while beating till all is mixed. Add vanilla essence during this step

- Add flour and pinch of salt and mix with your hands

- This is how the batter should look

- Grease your baking dish with butter. Make sure that it is of such size that the batter should cover half of the dish. We used 11 by 11 inch

- Pour the mixture in

- Tap it to release air bubbles

- Bake it at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes according to your oven or till the pick comes out clean of the sponge
- While the cake is being baked, mix coffee sachet with milk in a pan. Bring to boil and let it cool
- For chocolate Sauce, heat cooking chocolate with milk on very low heat till its dissolved. Raise the heat and cook till you get required thickness
- Beat cream with sugar and vanilla essence till fluffy
- When the baked sponge and the coffee mix cools down, soak the sponge with the coffee mix

- Spread the prepared cream on top of the soaked sponge

- Sprinkle some coco powder on top

- Serve with cream syrup
