Chaana Chaat
We all make channa chaat once in a while but this one is special. A little effort will bring out such great flavors 🙂
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 300 gms Chick Peas Soaked Overnight
- 3 - 4 Medium Potatoes Boiled and cubed
- 2 - 3 Onions Finely Sliced
- 1/4 Cup Lemon Juice
- 2 Tomatoes Chopped
- 3 - 4 Green Chillies Finely Chopped
- 1 Tablespoon Mint Finely Chopped
- 2 Tablespoon Fresh Coriander leaves Finely Chopped
Spices
- 1+1 Tablespoon Cumin Seeds Roasted & Ground
- 1 Teaspoon Salt Adjust accordingly
- 1 Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Chaat Masala
- 1 Teaspoon Brown Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Imli Sauce Tamarind Sauce
Toppings
- 1 Cup Yogurt Add 1 Tablespoon Dry Milk
- Pappri As desired
- Chips (Lays or any other) As desired
- Daal Seiv As desired
- Imli Chuttney As desired
- 2 Samosa Patti For Pappri

Instructions
- Boil soaked chick peas till they get very soft so that they can absorb the chuttney and flavor of the spices
- Soak the sliced onions in lemon juice for 10 to 15 minutes

- Prepare the rest of the ingredients

- Make imli sauce by boiling tamarind with water and making a paste with it
- Make pappri by frying roll patti in oil
- Make yogurt topping as instructed above. If your yogurt is thin, hang it in a cloth to strain extra water

- Start assembling your chaat by laying potatoes on top of the chick peas

- Add onions with lemon juice and the mint, coriander leaves

- Then layer the tomatoes and green chillies

- Sprinkle all spices

- Add in the imli sauce. Make sure you pour it all over the dish

- Mix all the ingredients carefully. We want everything to stay intact

- Top with yogurt

- Add a layer of Pappri

- Then add the chips

- Add Daal Seiv

- Top with Imli Chuttney

- Your Chaat is ready!
